James Norman will lead the squad as Captain, supported by Sarah Paine as Vice Captain.

Head Coach Kees Verhoeven said on selecting the squad:

“The development through the years with this team is incredible. Ireland Korfball is also ready for the future with a lot of young, talented players coming up for the next generation.”

Assistant Coach Terry Forde commented:

“This is the strongest squad we have ever taken to a tournament. We are confident that the training and preparation we have done so far will pay off and we can give the other teams a few shocks!”

Newly-appointed Team Captain James Norman said:

“I’m really excited to be going to the Worlds as such a great team, both on and off the pitch. We are looking forward to working hard and building on our success from the Europeans. We’ll answer Ireland’s call!”

The Championships are being held 1-10 August 2019 in Durban, South Africa. Ireland will first face an exciting group stage with matches against Chinese Tiapei, Australia and Poland.
